Do lithium batteries have recycling value? How to recycle waste lithium batteries?

At present, the recycling and utilization of power lithium batteries cannot realize the comprehensive recycling of various materials of the battery as a whole. The main types of cathode materials are lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganate, ternary lithium, lithium iron phosphate, etc.

At present, the recycling of waste lithium batteries mainly focuses on the recycling of positive electrode materials, positive electrode materials and waste hard shell batteries. During the recycling process, the waste lithium battery will release the remaining power, which is convenient for recycling. Among them, the cathode materials of waste lithium batteries contain metals such as cobalt, nickel, lithium, and aluminum, which have high recycling value.

Therefore, the recycling of the negative plate of the waste lithium battery is the core part of the lithium battery, and the positive active material of the lithium battery is bonded to the surface of the aluminum foil by a binder. The separation of aluminum foil from active substances and the separation of elements in active substances is the core of recycling.

The specific cost of recovering lithium is not clear, but taking nickel sulfate production as an example, the cost per ton of nickel through waste power battery recycling is less than 40,000 yuan, while the cost of directly producing nickel from nickel ore exceeds 60,000 yuan. The cost of obtaining metal raw materials through resource recovery is lower than that obtained directly through mineral development. Resource recovery of ternary batteries is of great significance to reduce costs.
